i understand seeking out support for a claim,
and selecting someone known to be in the military
is a good choice, but the wrong way to go about it.

what we are arguing in that thread stems way
beyond a simple issue over war. it digs deeper
down into philosophy and human ethic.

gnosis (aka fibonacci) told me the main reason
why he posted the initial thread was to show
the 'ignorance' of the signs... but then tapered
off on his own crusade against war in general.

as someone said, its not necessarily the morality
behind the issue... but the ethical hypocrisy
that we are against.

ghostwolf (as well as SS) are more than welcome
to post on the topic... or any acrop topic.

but it would be fair to let them know the
alternate ideas of the people in that thread,
not just the face-value of each post. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Shatz, I came here cause I'm out numbered 3-to-1 in that topic. I'm just trying to even up the odds... I figured wolfman would be a good choice cause he sees our armed forces up close. Plus, I know he would surport me on the simple bais that I'm pro-usa, and he's willing to die for the usa.

i think the problem is....
you think we are ganging up on you.
thats simply not true.

i hope you don't mind me saying this,
but its very aristotelian.

aristotle claimed that in any major issue
there are two pronounced sides.

if a person lay in the middle of that issue...
each respective side would 'think' that person
on the opposing side.

in this case, one who may be in the middle
of the war issue, will be forced into your
side (by the anti-war people) or their side
(by the war people).

all i'm saying is....
it is natural (based on aristotelian laws) that
you would come to the thread and make the
analogies you are making because you are attempting
to force me (or other anti-war people) into
an extreme case... i.e. against all americans.

i'm not against all americans. nor am i against
those that choose to side with the war. as i
said to WM and mrs. gator, i appreciate their
input into the thread because i openly
accept their opinions. i also stated that i
have no pity for those choosing to die for their
causes. it is their cause, so i am ok with that.

however, it is not my cause... so i do not
agree with it.

this does not mean that i am naturally against
all american policy in other areas... as you
claim that i am.


i certainly do not dislike you, gary (or GW)
or anyone else for wishing to defend their
cause. i'm just saying it isn't very fair to
protest my views simply because they are
adjacent to your own.

K...I'm not sure what he'd say...but I will say this..I called him and read what was said after he last posted over there...And he said he doesn't feel that he's bein attacked or jumped or what have you...I'm sure as soon as he gets time he will be back...Right now with him in Okinawa it's kinda hard to get lotsa time on aputer...*waves*
